Historical Performance is one of the great ideas. Simply put, pick up an original instrument, pick up a piece of original music, and see what happens. In the beginning, resources were limited; now we have endless choices.

Historical Performance now represents a broad spectrum of styles. On the left, there is Historical Performance, As Historical As Possible (AHAP). On the right, there is Mostly Modern Performance (MMP). And there is lots in between (LIB).

The historical performance clock calculates the date at which historical performance will be, on average, the same as modern performance. The clock currently stands at 1910. It is a rough approximation.
